Nate BaberSenior Associate
Attorney Baber is a senior associate at Aeton. In 2015 and 2016, he was awarded the Super Lawyer Rising Star designation for business litigation. He graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law with Honors, where he was recognized for success in appellate argument and trial advocacy having won the Alva P. Loiselle Moot Court Competition and the CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Trial Advocacy and Advanced Criminal Procedure.
In 2016, Attorney Baber was awarded the Pro Bono Award by the Federal Judges of the District of Connecticut for his work as appointed counsel in a federal civil rights case.
At Aeton, Attorney Baber’s practice includes the representation of individuals and businesses in litigation and transactional matters. He handles civil litigation in state and federal court including claims involving breach of contract, unfair trade practices, and disputes involving closely held corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships. In addition, he represents individuals and businesses in employment matters including wrongful termination, severance, and wage and hour violations. He further handles personal injury and products liability matters.
Attorney Baber’s litigation practice includes criminal law. He provides criminal counseling, court representation, and trial defense for misdemeanors and felonies including driving under the influence, possession of narcotics, and assault and battery.
Attorney Baber's transactional practice includes corporate formation, governance, and acquisitions. He assists start-up and established companies in corporate formation and drafting of incorporation, governance and early-stage corporate documents. His practice further includes drafting of critical employment documents, including non-compete agreements, employment handbooks, and work place policies.
Attorney Baber has significant education law experience. He has represented parents and students in disputes with public and private secondary schools and colleges on a variety of matters. His representative matters have included social media and online bullying investigations, suspension and expulsions, students unfairly targeted for discipline, students with disabilities who have not received proper accommodations, school investigations, and tuition reimbursement. His experience further includes representation of students at expulsion hearings in Connecticut's public schools.
